Helping Today. Helping Tommorow
As aCommunity
Through Sports– We strive to improve the wellbeing of our communities and promote community cohesion. We organise weekly football and netball trainingsessions where we engage with all the youthof the community regardless of their nationality, colour or background. These sessions are free to the attendees whose ages range from 5 to 55 years. After each training session we serve a tea but most importantly we let everyone to get totalk to each other. We also use this opportunity to talk to them about issues such as knife crime, smoking and drugs.
Through Online classes– We provide weekly online classesto the youth of our community on topics that are aimed to build their characters as the leaders of tomorrow with an Islamic perspective. We have talked to the youth on topics like, which friends to make, relationships, family values, respect to others, and mental health. We remind our youth to go out there in the community with the intention of doing good – with no expectation of reward or thank you.
Through our network– Our senior citizensare the first point of contact when community members need help or guidance be it career or life changing decision like when death occurs. Their advice is always sought whenever there are breakdowns in family relationships, financial disputes amongst members and all other social challenges within our community.
Through retreats–Every year in addition to the social gatherings, we take part in various youth retreats where they meet up with other youth from different parts of the countryand get to be taught about family values and nurture their talents. These retreats create an atmosphere of independence where they are away from home, yet they get to manage their time and be in a system with others with similar dreams. They get to engage and learn through topics and stories with an Islamic perspective.
